Why I Coach Beginners

I got into personal training because I love to motivate, I love being active, and I love watching somebody change — not just their body, but their whole lifestyle. That is the part that got me. Somebody walks in unsure of themselves, and a few months later they are the person who goes to the gym. Same guy, different life.

So when I started Cutta fitness here in Palmdale, I did not build it for people who already love training. Those people are fine. They do not need me. I built it for the guy who has been meaning to start for a year and keeps not starting, because walking into a gym with no idea what you are doing is genuinely uncomfortable, and nobody wants to admit that out loud.

The gym is not intimidating. Not knowing is

When I ask new clients what has been stopping them, almost none of them say the workouts look too hard. They say they feel lost. They do not know what to do first, or how many sets, or whether they are doing it wrong, and they assume everybody else in the room can tell.

Here is the truth from the floor: nobody is watching. Everyone is in their own headphones counting their own reps. But that fact does not help when you are standing there, so I do not just tell people it — I stand next to them until being in that room is normal. Being lost is a temporary condition, not a personality trait.

Why my method works

I coach general fitness with a focus on strength training, fat loss, muscle building, and conditioning. Bodybuilding-style workouts, basic strength movements, cardio that fits your week. It is not exotic. It works because it is repeatable, and repeatable is the only quality that matters over six months.

Strength training first, because it gives a beginner a win every single week. The scale will have opinions. It will stall for two weeks while your body figures itself out. But the weight on the bar goes up, and you feel that. That feeling is what carries people through the flat stretches.

Then food, kept simple. Protein at every meal, a moderate deficit, and meals built around what you actually eat instead of a list of things you will hate by week three. I coach a lot of people with schedules that do not cooperate — shift work, long days, food eaten at strange hours. The plan bends around the schedule. The schedule is not going to bend around the plan.

The part that is not in a program

What I do differently is I don't just want to be your trainer, I wanna be a friend, someone that you trust. I refuse to let my clients quit. We will work through it no matter what.

I mean that practically. If you go quiet for a week, you will hear from me. If you had a bad week, we talk about what actually happened instead of you performing guilt at me. If you show up in a mood, we still train, and we probably end up laughing about something halfway through, because taking the work seriously does not mean taking ourselves seriously.

That is also why I will not sell you a fantasy. I am one year into this business and I would rather tell you the honest timeline and keep you for a year than promise you a transformation in six weeks and lose you in seven.

Who I want in the door

Total beginners. Guys who want to lose weight, build muscle, get stronger, and stop feeling out of place in the gym. If that is you, you are not behind and you are not too far gone. You are just at the start, which is where everybody who ever got in shape was standing at some point.

Bring me the real version of your schedule and the real version of your appetite, and I will build something you can hold. Then we hold it together.
